Manchester United have added two new players to their first-team squad.
Shola Shoretire and Anthony Elanga have officially been promoted to the first-team after impressing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
With COVID-19 safety restrictions preventing players from training across different age groups, the youngsters were promoted to United 's first-team training bubble earlier this year and have remained there - indicative of how highly Solskjaer thinks of the academy graduates.
Since then, Shoretire and Elanga have played for United's U23s despite not training with their teammates at youth level, and they've also made their first-team debuts, with Shoretire making his in February against Newcastle, while Elanga started against Leicester in midweek.
Solskjaer made 10 changes to the United starting XI that triumphed over Aston Villa for the loss to Leicester, with Elanga benefiting from the decision, playing 66 minutes on the left flank before being replaced by Marcus Rashford.
Notably, Shoetire made United history when coming on as the final substitute against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford in the Europa League, which made the 17-year-old forward the youngest player to appear for the club in European competition.
Both players are held in high regard at United and will be eager to emulate Rashford and Mason Greenwood, who have most recently demonstrated it's possible to bridge the gap from the academy to great success.
Hannibal Mejbri was also promoted to the first-team training bubble but is yet to be officially promoted to the first-team squad.
