Manchester United prediction about West Ham target and claim surrounding Leeds United man

West Ham offered striker before Elland Road switch

Leeds striker Jean Kevin Augustin was initially offered to West Ham according to reports.

According to Football Insider, the hitman’s parent club RB Leipzig had made contact with West Ham over a potential move both last summer and in January.

However, the 22-year-old former PSG player would instead make a loan move to Monaco before another temporary switch to Elland Road.

The Hammers opted against the deal on both occasions, opting for Sebastien Heller at the start of the campaign and then signing Jarrod Bowen from Hull City in January as their forward options.

Merson predicts Hammers will miss out on Sanchez deal

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson believes West Ham will miss out on a potential blockbuster move for Alexis Sanchez.

The unsettled Manchester United forward is currently on loan at Inter Milan and has been linked with a shock move to the London Stadium in recent days.

However, with the uncertainty over the current season and no timeframe on when the transfer window will even open, Merson thinks clubs are less likely to consider doing major business.

“With what’s currently going on, I can’t see a team going out and spending £100m on a player anymore,” the Arsenal star told Sky Sports.

“Teams are going to have to stick with what they’ve got so Manchester United keeping hold of Alexis Sanchez and bringing him back into the fold would come as no surprise."

West Ham eye new keeper

The Hammers are reportedly looking to strengthen their goalkeeping options with a move for Olympiacos stopper Jose Sa.

SportDay, via Sport Witness, claim that West Ham are readying an offer for the Portuguese keeper but face competition for his signature.

The likes of Atletico Madrid and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Southampton are also said to be keeping an eye on Sa.

With first-choice keeper Lukasz Fabianski missing a portion of the current campaign through injury and less than convincing performances from deputy Roberto, David Moyes will likely be looking to improve this area when the window opens.
