Manchester United pre-season leaving players 'concerned' over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's 'British' style

Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer's 'British' style of pre-season is leaving Manchester United players 'concerned'.

Much of the work being done by the Old Trafford club is fitness based and the club's continental players feel it could leave them behind technically when the season starts.

The 'foreign contingent' are unimpressed by the style and insist not enough work is being done with the ball, report ESPN.

A lot of Solskjaer’s current sessions involve purely running and he previously admitted he wanted to work on fitness after feeling the squad he inherited lacked it a bit under Jose Mourinho.

He spoke about it earlier this year after his side were battered 4-0 by Everton and he warned the players they would be in for a tough pre-season when they returned.

"I’ve said it before, I can’t wait to get a pre-season done. We’ve been fantastic to get where we are, and maybe that’s got the eye off, because we’ve been chasing results and suddenly we are close to this top four.

"We never envisaged that we would be so close when we came in. Maybe it’s caught up with us.

"We all know to win games of football, as I refer to many times… basics, and fitness has nothing to do with talent."

Solskjaer is also having to deal with problems on the pitch as Paul Pogba looks to quit the club.
