Manchester United players 'share' Fernandes’ manager concerns as club 'want' Leicester star

Welcome to the United On My Mind daily-round up, where we take a look at some of the best Manchester United stories which you might have missed.

It’s been a tough return to domestic football for Manchester United as the pressure begins to grow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, reports suggest the players share Bruno Fernandes’ concerns toward the Norweigan. United’s director John Murtough is reportedly interested in promising talent Wesley Fofana, as Everton lead the race for Jesse Lingard’s signature.

Fernandes concerns 'grow throughout the squad'

It’ll come as no surprise Solskjaer is under immense pressure after results have been far from consistent and although the MEN understands Solskjaer’s job is safe, recent reports suggest there may be some friction in the United camp.

It was reported earlier this week that Fernandes’ concerns grew as he took matters into his own hands telling the manager to drop him deeper in United’s 3-2 win against Atalanta.

But now, The Mirror reports several United players share Fernandes’ tactical concerns. One of the strongest elements in regards to the safety of Solskjaer’s job is the relationship he's built with the players.

United’s former manager Jose Mourinho had plenty of friction with some players and when Solskjaer came in it was like a breath of fresh air for the squad. But if Solskjaer loses the belief from the players, things tend to only get worse from here.

In 2019 United signed Harry Maguire from Leicester City and reports suggest the Old Trafford side are set to be in for another star from the King Power Stadium- Wesley Fofana.

The Express report United director John Murtough is eager to acquire the services of the 20-year-old. The young defender has impressed since he has broken into the Leicester side and would be an excellent addition to most squads in the Premier League.

United have had their fair share of defensive concerns as Solskjaer’s men have conceded ten goals in eight games in the league this season, so it would come as no surprise if United re-visit the transfer market for additional options.

Everton 'lead Lingard race'

Jesse Lingard re-ignited his career through a loan deal to West Ham last season and despite the London club showing interest in a permanent move in the summer, Solskjaer was keen to keep the Englishman at Old Trafford.

Despite a handful of promising performances this season, Lingard hasn’t had as much game time as he’d like and with several clubs being interested the Football Insider report that Everton are leading the race to sign the midfielder.

Lingard still has plenty left to offer as we saw during his loan spell and considering the number of options United have in the attacking midfield area it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Lingard was to move on.
