Manchester United players set new challenge after Partizan Belgrade win

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists Manchester United need to build on the momentum of a first away win in 12 and end their winless away record in the Premier League.

United secured their first away victory in 232 days with a 1-0 defeat of Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League and travel to Norwich City on Sunday in the first of three successive away games.

Chelsea host United in the League Cup fourth round on Wednesday and Bournemouth then await in a lunchtime kick-off on Saturday week. United have not claimed three points away from Old Trafford since they beat Crystal Palace 3-1 on February 27 to set a club-record nine successive away wins.

"Of course I'm happy now," Solskjaer said. "We can just look forward to the next one, try to build momentum, we need to win away from home in the league. But another clean sheet and that gives you a platform to win the games from."

"We had to defend really well," Solskjaer added. "Their team was really good second-half, lots of courage, send men forward, create loads of opponents."

Solskjaer applauded the raucous Partizan Belgrade supporters as he approached the tunnel at full-time after he showed appreciation for the travelling United fans.

There was concern going into the match it would be marred by crowd trouble after Partizan received a two-game stadium closure due to racist behaviour by their fans earlier this season. Solskjaer was struck by their passion against United.

"The crowd was unbelievable," Solskjaer stressed. "The crowd should be very proud of their team and the team should be very proud of their crowd, it was an excellent atmosphere.

"What we talked about before the game. Wow. The fans were great."
