Manchester United players send messages to Axel Tuanzebe after Aston Villa Play-off final win

Manchester United players have rushed to congratulate teammate Axel Tuanzebe, who secured promotion to the Premier League with Aston Villa.

Tuanzebe's Villa side beat Derby at Wembley in a tense Championship Play-off final on Monday to return to the top division and make amends for last season's defeat on the same stage.

It was a fine reward for Tuanzebe, who returned from injury to play a key part in Villa's march back to the Premier League.

And as Tuanzebe celebrated at Wembley, his teammates back at United took to social media to send their own messages to the young defender.

Tuanzebe himself posted a picture holding the play-off final trophy, referencing the presence of Prince William at Wembley. He said: Win the play-off final, Prince William's order!"

And plenty of United players liked the post, including Marcus Rashford, Joel Pereira, Angel Gomes, Brandon Williams and Aidan Barlow.

In the comments, Jesse Lingard wrote: "Love that axe congrats brother."

Eric Bailly added: "Congratulations my little Axel."

Demetri Mitchell said: "Congrats brother", while Timothy Fosu-Mensah simply used Tuanzebe's nickname with a love heart: "Zubee."

Dean Henderson, who also secured promotion to the Premier League with Sheffield United, said: "Too much sauce."
