Manchester United players return to training after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decision

Manchester United players returned to training on Monday morning after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer granted them a week off at the start of the international break.

Solskjaer flew back to Norway with his family a week ago to enjoy a brief break before returning to prepare his side for a trip to face Watford this weekend.

United are no closer to making a managerial change after their recent woes and are reluctant to sack him without a contingency plan in place.

The Norwegian is expected to be in charge for the trip to Vicarage Road on Saturday despite the mounting pressure he is coming under. Solskjaer only narrowly avoided being sacked after the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on October 24 and came under fresh scrutiny after another humiliating home defeat to Man City last time out.

NEW: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer returns to Carrington for Manchester United training

United will be demanding an immediate transformation in fortunes when they return to action later this week and ahead of the match a number of players have returned to the club's Carrington training complex.

With many stars still away on international duty there was only a small group of senior players present on Monday morning with Dean Henderson, Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all pictured by photographers arriving at Carrington.

Scott McTominay was also seen arriving at the club's facilities less than 24 hours after he was ruled out of Scotland's final World Cup qualifier against Denmark on Monday night.

McTominay, 24, missed the win over Moldova on Friday due to a throat virus and has not recovered in time for the final Group F fixture.
