Manchester United players look miserable as they arrive at Carrington after West Ham loss

Manchester United's players looked decidedly glum as they arrived at Carrington on Monday morning ahead of Wednesday's Carabao Cup meeting with Rochdale.

United are reeling from their second defeat of the season away to West Ham on Sunday and must now regroup for their third game in seven days.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is dealing with something of an injury crisis after Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Luke Shaw all missed the trip to the London Stadium and Marcus Rashford was forced off in the second half with a thigh problem.

Eric Bailly and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are long-term absentees after sustaining serious knee injuries earlier in the year.

Ahead of the meeting with Rochdale, Solskjaer said he expects to be without Rashford in the immediate future but said Martial and Greenwood could soon return.

"Hopefully Mason and Anthony will be back for the Arsenal game and at least one of them for Rochdale," Solskjaer said.

Pogba could also return against Rochdale after overcoming an ankle problem.
