Manchester United players arrive for training after Liverpool FC defeat

Manchester United's players arrived at the club's Carrington training base on Monday morning, the day after their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.

It was a tough afternoon for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his side at Anfield, as goals at either end of the match from Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah sealed a win for Jurgen Klopp's side. It was a deserved victory for Liverpool that takes them one step closer to the Premier League title.

United were poor for long periods but showed some fight in the second half and arguably could have levelled through Anthony Martial or Fred.

But a bad day was made worse, not just by Salah's last gasp second goal but the injury to Marcus Rashford. Solskjaer confirmed that the in-form United forward could be out for as long as two months with a stress fracture in his back.

That leaves Anthony Martial as the club's only fit senior striker, along with 18-year-old Mason Greenwood. Martial was spotted by MEN photographers heading into the training ground on Monday morning.

Solskjaer will now prepare his squad for a midweek fixture at home to Burnley in the Premier League, with United due to play either Watford or Tranmere in an FA Cup tie on Sunday this week.
