David de Gea
Produced his best performance in over a year at City but this has been his worst season with United since his first. Will not be reclaiming the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award. 5
Sergio Romero
Ten games and eight clean sheets. Romero admittedly plays against the fodder but his world-class save at Wolves kept United in the FA Cup and he should have had Premier League minutes by now. 7
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Apart from that aberration at Watford, he has been near-faultless defensively. He is improving in attack but still not adventurous enough. 6
Diogo Dalot
Dalot's brittle body have restricted him to five starts and he was out for nearly three months. Scored a brilliant goal at Tranmere. 3
Victor Lindelof
Not properly recovered from his errors in August in a season of regression, but picked up since Liverpool away. Exceptional at City in the league. 5
Harry Maguire
Squandered chances at set-pieces he would ordinarily convert. Been an ever-present but not set the world alight and his standout performance was on his debut. 6
Phil Jones
Played just eight times and in his two league starts he was hooked at half-time and Burnley won 2-0 in the other, although Jones was respectable that night. Scored at Tranmere. 3
Marcos Rojo
Somehow part of the only defence that has stopped Liverpool from winning in the league. Was okay during his run in the team but then got injured again and was shipped out on loan. 3
Axel Tuanzebe
The season began auspiciously but Tuanzebe spent six weeks out in the autumn and has been sidelined for nearly two months. Shown promise when he has played. 5
Luke Shaw
Was out for three months and then out of the team when fit due to the form of Brandon Williams. Did reasonably well in a back three. 4
Brandon Williams
An unlikely success story. Williams has already amassed 15 starts, sparked a comeback with his first career goal and held his own against Liverpool. 7
Paul Pogba
Bossed Chelsea in the opening weekend, missed a penalty at Wolves, soon got injured, cameoed brightly against Watford and Newcastle and was soon injured again. 5
Andreas Pereira
Definitely not a central midfielder. Definitely not a winger. Can look like a playmaker. Works hard and is committed to improving but overplayed after United failed to replenish the squad in the summer. 3
Fred
Taken his time but established himself as a United midfielder. Shone twice at City, performed at Anfield and against Tottenham. No goals or assists, though. 7
Scott McTominay
His absence in the last month or so has been felt. Up until then, McTominay was (and still is) a candidate for the United player of the year award. 7
Nemanja Matic
Enjoyed a mini revival in January after a forgettable first half of the season where he was injured for two months. Plugged the gaps against City in the League Cup semi-final first leg and scored superbly in the second. 5
James Garner
Acquitted himself well in the Europa League group games but restricted to one substitute appearance in the league. Deserved more minutes at that level. 5
Daniel James
Somewhat a victim of his own success. James's productivity in his first four months was excellent but he has looked jaded since Everton and his form has fallen off a cliff. 6
Juan Mata
Can still turn it on against the fodder and scored a delightful winner to see off Wolves in the FA Cup. Only started 15 times and is effectively a cup specialist. 5
Jesse Lingard
The wait for a Premier League goal or assist is about to tick past 14 months. Looked out of sorts for most of the season but performed in back-to-back wins over Tottenham and City and scored a couple of good goals. 3
Angel Gomes
His contract situation is rumbling on and not helping matters. Gomes has shown glimpses in the Europa League and as a substitute against City in the League Cup. 4
Tahith Chong
Like Gomes, uncertainty over his future is denying him more playing time and when Chong has played he has not convinced. Missed an open goal at Astana. 4
Anthony Martial
A key component of the attack either side of his eight-week lay-off in the first half of the season, but not had a proper goalscoring run. Looks bereft without Marcus Rashford. 6
Mason Greenwood
The 18-year-old already has 10 goals and should have started more league matches. The quality of his finishes are maybe the best at the club. 7
Marcus Rashford
Struggled during Martial's two-month absence but reached new heights since October. Rashford is United's matchwinner and talisman and his has been their most significant injury. 8
Eric Bailly and Timothy Fosu-Mensah were not marked because they have not played. Lee Grant and Bruno Fernandes were not marked because they have only started once.
