His handling was steady again and made a terrific save from Rodri's second-half strike amid City pressure. 8

Coped superbly with Raheem Sterling and was eager to express himself further forward. His best performance for United yet. 8
Harry Maguire
Marshaled the defence well as captain and his no-nonsense defending was needed amid periods of City pressure. 7
Victor Lindelof
His best week of the season with United. Whereas Maguire was the battering ram, Lindelof brought composure to help instigate attacks. Great block from Kevin de Bruyne. 8
Luke Shaw
A risky pick on his first league start in 15 weeks and Bernardo Silva got past him too easily at times as City targeted the left-back. Kept going. 6
Scott McTominay
Disciplined in front of the back four and that allowed Fred off the leash to supplement the attackers. Gamesmanship frustrated City. 7
Fred
His best performance yet. Flourished at the Etihad with Shakhtar two years ago and controlled the midfield, nutmegging Rodri. 9
Jesse Lingard
Had a knack of constantly finding space and his use of the ball was positive. Lingard's free role flummoxed City. 8

Pep Guardiola put his hands on his head the first time James bypassed Angelino. City could not keep up with his blistering pace. Set up Anthony Martial's goal. 8
Marcus Rashford
Won the penalty, converted it and could have scored more. Nigh-on unplayable at times and in the form of his young life. 9
