Marcus Rashford's brace was enough for Manchester United to squeeze past Chelsea 2-1 in their fourth round Carabao Cup tie. Here's how the players rated:
Sergio Romero
His kicking was too casual at times and that became problematic once Chelsea became more intense with their pressing. 6
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Offered support in attack yet was curiously hesitant to cross again even though he was the sole right-sided outlet. 6
Harry Maguire
Defended more solidly in a back three than he did in Belgrade last week and did not appear nervous captaining United. Too slow for the equaliser, though. 6
Victor Lindelof
Seemed to appreciate the presence of two centre halves with him in the back three and was more confident. Came off hurt. 6
Marcos Rojo
Did okay when he needed to but did not offer Brandon Williams enough protection on the left. Too open for the goal. 5
Brandon Williams
Retreated vigilantly to thwart Callum Hudson-Odoi early in the second-half and remained composed as he placed an emphasis on defending. Quality again. 8
Scott McTominay
Set the tone with an early cruncher on Mateo Kovacic and preceded to boss the midfield. Becoming indispensable for United. 8
Fred
Combined well with McTominay again for 45 minutes. Became swamped a bit after the interval but recovered and had an impact in the final third. 7
Jesse Lingard
Another game that passed him by as a playmaker. Not cutting it in that role and his poor form continues. 4
Marcus Rashford
Showed good composure to score his penalty three days after missing one at Norwich. Then scored a superb free-kick. Back on form. 8
Daniel James
Kieran McKenna's message got across and James had Chelsea on the back foot before he tripped over Marcos Alonso's foot to win the penalty. 7
Subs
Anthony Martial
Should have used the ball better. 5
Andreas Pereira
Offered energy. 6
Ashley Young
Shored things up. 5
