Manchester United player ratings vs Real Sociedad: Dean Henderson and Bruno Fernandes good

Dean Henderson

Dependable and vocal on his latest outing. Can't take too much credit for Mikel Oyarzabal's horrible penalty. Helped teammates. 7

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

A strange selection and looked a bit jaded again. United are at risk of running him into the ground. Replaced at half-time. 6

Victor Lindelof

Produced his best piece of defending all season to deny Sociedad a certain goal early doors. His foul denied Axel Tuanzebe a goal. 6

Eric Bailly

Livened up a largely lifeless night in a possible audition to start at Chelsea. Recovered from a second-half knock to see out the game. 7

Alex Telles

Did not make the most of his set-piece prowess and did little to put any pressure on Luke Shaw. Steady in defence. 6

Fred

Two 'f-----g hell's and one booking in the first-half. An improvement after going off the boil and was substituted at half-time. 6

Nemanja Matic

More adventurous than he was against Newcastle. Fleet of foot at times and got into attacking areas where he fashioned chances. 7

Daniel James

Clumsily conceded a penalty but was excellent again in the attacking third with his pressing and had a headed chance. Came off injured. 6

Bruno Fernandes

Imaginative with his shot that pinged the crossbar and pass that James met to draw a save. Did not emerge for the second-half. 7

Mason Greenwood

Quiet on the right at the wrong time, with a starting place against Chelsea at stake, in the first-half. Much brighter in the second. 6

Anthony Martial

Livelier after his lifeless performance at the weekend and provided some decent moments. Put in a shift. 6

Subs

Axel Tuanzebe

Seemed to have scored his first United goal but it was disallowed. Adapted well to return to midfield. 6

Brandon Williams

A much needed run-out for the full-back at right-back and he did little wrong. 6

Marcus Rashford

Went so close with a free-kick shortly after the restart. 6

Amad

Enjoyed the most fulfilling appearance of his career. 6

Shola Shoretire

Second appearance within a week and United's youngest European debutant since Norman Whiteside. 6

Manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Played a needlessly strong side and belatedly introduced players who should have started at half-time. Livened things up with introductions of Amad and Shoretire. 6
