Arguably looks more comfortable in a back three with Harry Maguire than in an axis. Confident all night. 7

Executed a crucial sliding challenge on Raheem Sterling at 0-0 but squandered another presentable header at 1-0. Got away with an awful pass inside his area. 7
Luke Shaw
Caught napping early on when he failed to pick up Aguero but De Gea reprieved him. Eventually settled and substituted as United chased the game. 6

Coped well with Mahrez's unorthodox role as a wing-back-cum-playmaker and maintained his discipline in tough circumstances. 6

The defensive midfielder was United's most reliable attacker with his pinpoint passing. Scored superbly to make it 1-0 but needlessly got himself sent off. 7

Started off as the No.10 but was drafted into midfield to try and counter the City attack. Won the free-kick Matic scored from but was rebuked by Solskjaer. 4
