Man United player ratings vs Norwich: Fred and Scott McTominay good

David de Gea

Had little to do in the first-half but saved well from Teemu Pukki's drive in the second and Ozan Kabak's header. 8

Diogo Dalot

One of United's most consistent and reliable attackers. An ever-present in attacks but often overlooked by teammates. Another progressive performance. 7

Victor Lindelof

Had an uncomfortable afternoon against Teemu Pukki and eventually came off in discomfort. 5

Harry Maguire

Strangely reluctant to supplement the front six and slow with the ball at his feet. Stout defending corners. 6

Alex Telles

Another fine individual performance. Created chances from crosses and clipped the crossbar from a free-kick. 7

Scott McTominay

Positive with the ball and shielded the back four vigilantly again. His cross led to the penalty United were awarded. 7

Fred

The most disciplined of the front six, Fred also bailed out Lindelof with one challenge inside his own area. Quietly effective. 7

Bruno Fernandes

So unreliable on the ball again and his game jars with Rangnick's. His place as one of the 10s should already be in doubt. 3

Jadon Sancho

Looked a threat when he got the ball but did not get it often enough. Unfortunate to be hooked first when he was the most promising of the front four. 5

Marcus Rashford

Lucky to start and needed to perform but didn't. Sloppy with the ball, often unaware without it and rarely got a decision right. Best moment was creating a chance for Ronaldo. 3

Cristiano Ronaldo

Bar one shot that Tim Krul comfortably pushed away, Ronaldo did not look as though he had benefited from a six-day rest. But he won a penalty and scored it. Also missed a sitter. 6

Subs

Mason Greenwood

Did little once he was on. 6

Eric Bailly

Malfunctioned. 5

Donny van de Beek

Another late cameo. 5

Manager

Got it wrong retaining the same league XI and overlooking Greenwood from the start. Brought Greenwood on but game was salvaged by a penalty and De Gea. 6
