Man United ratings vs Liverpool: Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford good

Dean Henderson

Stood up to Mohamed Salah but was craftily beaten in the first-half. Too porous in letting Salah's second in. Made crucial stops at 2-2. 6

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Iffy again and appeared to be targeted by Liverpool's combination of Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones. Much more secure in the second-half. 6

Victor Lindelof

His body shape was awry for Salah's opener and he dropped too far back to play the Egyptian onside. Some decent last-ditch defending in the second-half. 6

Harry Maguire

Another committed performance against an innovative Liverpool attack, with Roberto Firmino deeper than usual. 6

Luke Shaw

Culpable for Salah's goal but otherwise excellent again and it is safe to say Shaw is United's corner-taking panacea. 7

Scott McTominay

Got crowded out a few times by Liverpool's midfield and had decent opportunities at 1-1. Poor use of the ball. 5

Paul Pogba

Grew into the game after a slow start but United's looseness in midfield saw Pogba moved to the right. Unnerved Liverpool and decisively ducked out of the way of the free-kick. 7

Mason Greenwood

His decision-making was poor at the first two opportunities but finished cleanly from the third. Substituted just after the hour. 7

Donny van de Beek

Started slickly and did not look out of place as the 10 against the champions for spells but faded and was predictably withdrawn in the second-half. 5

Marcus Rashford

Often selfish again but had Liverpool constantly on the back foot and found Greenwood for the leveller before he made it 2-1. 7

Edinson Cavani

A fine focal point who energised United's attack in the absence of the lethargic Anthony Martial. Careless in setting up Liverpool's equaliser but won the free-kick Bruno Fernandes converted. 6

Subs

Fred

Helped shore up the midfield and Liverpool lost momentum. 7

Bruno Fernandes

Had to come on and had to step up to take the free-kick. 7

Anthony Martial

Replaced Rashford late on. 5

Manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Maybe made too many changes that left United looser but the arrivals of Fred and Fernandes were key and his in-game management decisive. 8
