Suffered an early rush of blood to the head but saved crucially at 1-0 amid Partizan pressure. Then made a better stop late on. 7
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Sloppier at wing-back than he was against Liverpool. Seemed a little flustered by the atmosphere and hesitant in the final third again. 5
Harry Maguire
Committed some clumsy fouls in his first game as captain and was skinned by Seydouba Soumah for Partizan's best chance. Poorest game yet for United. 5
Phil Jones
Did nothing obviously wrong in the first-half but flirted with disaster in the second and was booked. Key block late on. 6
Marcos Rojo
Started on the left of the back three again but whenever an opponent ran at him they glided by. Helped keep a clean sheet, though. 6
Brandon Williams
Showed positive intent before his buccaneering breakthrough into the Partizan penalty area won the penalty. 7

Endeavoured to offer some thrust from midfield but was guilty of overplaying it at times and missed an easy header. 6
James Garner
Had a few rash moments at the start but settled down and was forward-thinking on the ball in a respectable full debut. 6

The game passed him by too often and, alarmingly for a playmaker, the playmaker role does not always seem suitable for Mata. 5
