Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has fired back at "made up" reports suggesting he could become the top earner at Old Trafford on £400,000 per-week.
Rashford, 25, has returned to his top form this season and netted three goals at the World Cup for England before they were eliminated by runners-up France at the last-eight stage. He only has seven months to run on his United deal, meanwhile, although the club plan to trigger one-year options with him and four teammates.
Amid ongoing interest from PSG and other potential suitors, though, United are wanting to tie Rashford down to longer and improved terms. Reports circulating on social media appeared to claim the club are willing to make their rejuvenated academy graduate the highest-paid player in the squad.

It comes after five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo departed Old Trafford for the second time. He picked up around £375,000 per-week this term after United slashed player salaries by 25 per cent having failed to cement a place in the Champions League under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick last campaign.
Rashford picked up on contested reports and issued a response on social media. Addressing his 5.9million followers on Twitter, he said: "Can we please stop making up these stories?"
He continued: "Mine and the club's objectives are to hopefully get into the Champions League this season. This isn't helpful. Thank you."
After struggling as part of the collective last season, Rashford has been revived under Erik ten Hag with eight goals and three assists in 19 games enough to see him return to the England squad. He was a shining light in Qatar and his three goals helped the Three Lions into the last-eight where they were beaten by France.
