Manchester United player Marcus Rashford addresses injury concern vs Man City

Marcus Rashford played through the pain in Manchester United's derby day victory but dismissed his injury scare, labelling it as 'a little knock.'

United registered a memorable victory over City on Saturday as goals from Bruno Fernandes and Rashford cancelled out Jack Grealish's opener and claimed a 2-1 victory. However, it could have gone a lot differently.

Towards the end of the first half Rashford suffered a blow that looked to be the end of his game. The striker pulled up off the ball, appearing to clutch at his left groin/hip area, and received treatment.

After that treatment, though, he was back on the pitch and managed to see out the 90 minutes before being withdrawn deep into added time.

"Just a little knock but in games like this you have to try and push through," he told BT Sport after the match. "Thankfully I managed to do that, obviously scoring the goal at the end and winning the game and that's what we set out to do. This game, obviously, it's a bit special, but we're happy to get the three points and continue winning at Old Trafford."

United are now just one point behind City and six points behind leaders Arsenal, although Mikel Arteta's side have a game in hand, which will be played away to Tottenham on Sunday.

“You have to," Rashford responded when asked by MUTV if United need to start looking above them in the table. "We have to look forward, we have to think positive. We obviously have another game against Palace away, which is a tough place to go. So, it is another test for us and hopefully we stand up to it and go there and win it.”
