Manchester United player Jesse Lingard dropped from England squad for EURO 2020 qualifiers

Gareth Southgate has dropped Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard from the England squad for their EURO 2020 qualifiers later this month.

The second international break of the season has come along in the blink of an eye and the Three Lions will be hoping to continue their brilliant start to their qualification campaign.

England have won all four of their games so far and have bagged 19 goals while doing so, with the last group of fixtures bringing a 4-0 win against Bulgaria and a nervy 5-3 victory over Kosovo on home soil.

This time England will first journey to Prague to take on Czech Republic on Friday October 11, before then making the trip South East to face Bulgaria once again.

After naming four United players in his squad last time out Southgate has only called up two this time around.

Many expected Lingard to be dropped from the squad in the last international break but he retained his place thanks to the good work he's done for Southgate so far.

However, this time around he has lost his place and been replaced by impressive Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was named in a senior England squad for the first time in his career in September but had to pull out due to a back injury and has had the misfortune of missing out again, this time due to suffering from a bout of tonsillitis.

The only United players in the England squad are Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford.

The full England squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Heaton, Pickford, Pope

Defenders: Alexander-Arnold, Chilwell, Gomez, Keane, Maguire, Mings, Rose, Tomori, Trippier

Midfielders: Barkley, Delph, Henderson, Maddison, Mount, Rice, Winks

Forwards: Abraham, Kane, Rashford, Sancho, Sterling, Wilson
