Manchester United's Axel Tuanzebe has been urged to leave the club this summer and join 'perfect' destination Aston Villa this summer.
Tuanzebe has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and with United 's interest in Raphael Varane ratcheting up this week, the 23-year-old will struggle for too many opportunities next season.
With this in mind, former England international Paul Robinson, has urged Tuanzebe to move on from Old Trafford, suggesting Villa Park as the ideal home for the defender.
“At 23, if you’re not getting a sniff at your own club, it’s not a good sign," the ex-Spurs and Blackburn goalkeeper told Football Insider.
“The under-23 league that’s been brought in gives people a false sense of security that you’re going to be a footballer at 23.
“If you’re 20 or 21 and you’re not training with the first team at that point, you’ve probably missed the boat.
“He’s got quality. But I think for him, at this stage in his career, he’s not at Man United level. So he probably needs to move elsewhere.
“Somewhere like Aston Villa would be perfect for himself and for the good of his career.”
Tuanzebe already has positive associations with Aston Villa having helped the club win promotion to the top-flight via the Championship playoffs during his second loan spell at the club in 2018/19, playing the full ninety minutes in a 2-1 win over Derby County in the Wembley decider. The MEN understands he is set to leave United on loan this summer to gain more minutes.
