Manchester United player Anthony Martial's agents send another message to his critics

Anthony Martial's management agency have jumped to the defence of the forward after he has come in for criticism for an inconsistent season.

Martial scored 12 goals for Manchester United, but eight of those came in a 10-game spell between October and December. His other four strikes came in 26 appearances across the rest of the season.

But data shared by USFA Management, who represent Martial, show that the Frenchman in fact had the highest shot conversion rate in the Premier League this season, and the highest percentage of shots on target.

Martial's figure of his 29.41% conversion rate was comfortably higher than the next highest player at 25% (Raheem Sterling). The statistic proves Martial scored in just over one in three attempts.

With 58.82% of shots taken by Martial hitting the target, that means roughly every other shot on target from United's number 11 found the back of the net.

Martial's challenge now is to take more shots, as data from WhoScored.com shows he only averaged 1.5 shots her game this season.

The post from Martial's management comes after they shared an image of goals per game statistics compared to other famous United wingers earlier this month.

Captioned with: 'Criticising is easy, the truth is on the pitch', the image showed Martial's record to be better than that of Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham.
