Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira has named the 'dream' club he wants to play for.
After progressing through United 's academy ranks, there were high hopes for Pereira at Old Trafford but he struggled after stepping up to the first team and is currently on loan at Lazio.
That's the third loan spell away from United for Pereira, who previously had stints with Granada and Valencia in La Liga, and it seems likely he could soon leave the club permanently, although his contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Pereira was born in Belgium to Brazilian parents and he's represented Brazil's national team in youth competitions, while also making his first-team debut for the Selecao three years ago.
"My heart is Brazilian," Pereira previously said and it should therefore be no surprise to see the midfielder name the 'dream' club that he wants to play for plying their trade in his adopted homeland.
“I think I’ve said this several times, I made it clear already. I’ve always said, I’m a Santos fan. When I finish here in Europe, my choice will always be Santos FC,” Pereira explained to TNT Sports.
“It doesn’t matter what it is or how it is. But for me in Brazil there’s only one team, it’s Santos, I already made that clear. This is a dream, to end my career at Santos. I’ve already spoken to the president, they’ve already spoken to me, they left me very calm.
“So let’s see what will happen in the next few years. But I would very much like to end my career at Santos. But not only to finish, just to be able to play for Santos would be an immense pride.”
