Manchester United plans for Kobbie Mainoo as three players set for January loan exits

Manchester United are considering loan offers for a host of academy players ahead of the January transfer window.

MEN Sport understands United have received numerous initial inquiries about the availability of their best young players and will continue to evaluate their options before the window reopens next year.

United centre-backs Teden Mengi and Di'Shon Bernard are both actively looking to secure loan moves during the winter window after both of them missed out on summer exits due to injury.

Mengi revealed this week that he wants to leave the club on loan again after spells at Derby and Birmingham, and Bernard wants more meaningful minutes after impressing at Salford and Hull.

It is also understood that Charlie Savage will likely leave the club on loan as he looks to take the next step in his career by getting his first proper taste of professional football.

The Welsh youngster impressed during the pre-season tour under Erik ten Hag but has yet to make the full step up to first-team football since then.

There is also loan interest being shown in FA Youth Cup-winning midfielder Kobbie Mainoo though sources admit it is less likely he will leave the club yet.

The 17-year-old has yet to make his professional debut, and while there is also Football League interest in signing him, it appears he will stay at the club to further his development.

Mainoo was not part of Ten Hag's pre-season squad but is highly rated by the United manager and was named on the bench for the goalless draw with Newcastle in the Premier League last month.
