Manchester United pair Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba declared fit for Premier League restart

Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba have fully recovered from injury and will be fit to play when football resumes next month.

The Manchester United pair have handed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a major boost ahead of the return of top flight football in this country.

Rashford has been out since January with a double stress fracture of the back, while Pogba has missed the majority of the season with foot and ankle problems.

But both have been back in training as United have returned to Carrington following the coronavirus lockdown.

Solskjaer confirmed: “They’re looking good, they’ve joined training now and they’ve done everything the other boys have been doing. No reaction so far, touch wood.

When we get started, it looks like we can have a full squad to choose from.

It is welcome news for Solskjaer, with United in contention for a top four finish and still in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Clubs have been allowed to train in small groups since last week as the Premier League aims to resume next month.

Solskjaer told United’s website: “Hopefully now we’ve proved we can do this safely and we can move to the next step. It’s been really enjoyable being on the training ground again.

Everyone’s looking sharp, everyone’s been in with a good mood and we’ve been splitting up in groups so (working in) fours and fives together and they’ve really done well. Hopefully, they can as I said, step up and go to bigger training groups, but so far it’s been good.

“I think when we start training in full groups, of course we need a bit of time to gel again, but they’re mentally ready and physically they look okay too.”
