Manchester United opponents confirmed for Europa League semi-final

Manchester United will face Roma in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side booked their place in the last four of the European competition after defeating Spanish side Granada 4-0 on aggregate across two legs.

United won 2-0 away in Spain in the first leg before a 2-0 win in the second leg at Old Trafford on Thursday night. Edinson Cavani opened the scoring with a scuffed volley after a wonderful lay-off from midfielder Paul Pogba, before an own goal from Jesus Vallejo secured the result.

Their reward will be a two legged tie against Roma, with the fixtures set to take place on 29 April and 6 May.

Roma secured their semi-final place after they defeated Ajax 3-2 on aggregate. Roma won 2-1 away in Amsterdam in the first leg before coming from behind to draw 1-1 in the second leg this week.

Arsenal will face Villarreal in the other semi-final fixture after their thumping win over Sparta Prague in their own semi-final fixture.

The Europa League final will take place in Gdansk on 26 May.
