Manchester United 'open talks' with Paul Pogba over new contract and more transfer rumours

Manchester United want to sit down with Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola over a new contract at Old Trafford, according to reports.

The Reds have been eager to secure the future of their key players, with David De Gea and Victor Lindelof penning new long-term contracts in recent weeks.

Pogba stated his desire for a new challenge earlier in the summer but rumoured moves to both Real Madrid or Juventus failed to materialise. MEN Sport understand United want to keep hold of Pogba for as long as possible.

ESPN report that United want their star midfielder to extend his stay in the Premier League despite his intentions to depart. United will have to convince Pogba that his future lies in England.

The report states that Raoila has a good relationship with United vice chairman Ed Woodward and Pogba hasn't completely ruled out staying at the club.

Elsewhere, United are monitoring 15-year-old West Ham starlet Jamal Baptiste.

Football Insider report that United have scouted the centre-back on at least three occasions.

Baptiste recently made his debut for their U23 side and is regarded as one of the most promising defenders in the country.

However, United would face competition from their Premier League rivals to secure his signature.
