Manchester United open Jack Grealish transfer talks and more rumours

After agreeing a fee for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Aston Villa for midfielder Jack Grealish.

United are close to making Netherlands midfielder van de Beek their first summer signing, with Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho also a top target.

Grealish had started the summer as a target, but as the Sancho interest took priority talk of the Villa captain went quiet.

Now, though, it's claimed United have opened talks to sign Grealish as the new season approaches. The Daily Mail claim United have approached Villa to begin negotiations for Grealish, who was overlooked in the England squad last weel.

The report claims Grealish remains a prime target for United, but he will cost around £80m to prize away from Villa Park.

Meanwhile, Everton have joined the race to sign United goalkeeper Sergio Romero - according to reports. The Express claim Carlo Ancelotti wants the Argentine to put pressure on current No.1 Jordan Pickford.

Romero finds himself further down the pecking order following the return of Dean Henderson.
