Manchester United 'offered Sergio Reguilon transfer by Real Madrid' and more transfer rumours

Real Madrid have reportedly offered defender Sergio Reguilon to Manchester United.

United got their summer transfer business off to a strong start earlier this week after confirming the capture of playmaker Donny van de Beek from Ajax.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping that there's more to come as he aims to turn his promising side into Premier League title contenders and he wants to further improve his attacking options, with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho the top target.

The Norwegian also hasn't ruled out strengthening his defence and M.E.N. Sport understands that the club are monitoring Madrid left-back Reguilon due to uncertainty in the full-back positions.

The 23-year-old impressed on loan at Sevilla last season and United experienced how good he is first hand as he helped defeat them in the Europa League semi-finals, with the La Liga side going on to lift the trophy.

Despite Reguilon's talent, he remains behind Ferland Mendy and Marcelo in Zinedine Zidane's pecking order and could be available this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano the Spanish champions have actually offered Reguilon to United, with Solskjaer and the board considering him as an 'option.' It's reported that they will soon make a decision on the offer.

However, United face stiff competition as Sevilla have made their desire to take Reguilon back on loan known to Los Blancos and other clubs could yet make a move as well.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are keeping tabs on a possible move for United goalkeeper Sergio Romero, according to reports.

The London club have undergone a major rebuild this summer with the signings of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Malang Saar and Kai Havertz.

Yet they still have problems between the sticks after Kepa Arrizabalaga's struggles for form. The Athletic suggest Romero is a player of interest to Frank Lampard as he looks to complete his summer spending by improving his goalkeeping options.
