Manchester United next manager odds change with Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane news

Ex-Tottenham manager and current PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is the new favourite for the vacant Manchester United managerial role.

The 49-year-old has previous experience in the Premier League, improving both Southampton and Spurs in his time at the clubs.

He most famously took the Lilywhites to a Champions League final, overcoming Ajax in a dramatic semi-final but falling at the last hurdle against Liverpool in Madrid.

Reports claim that the PSG manager would be interested in a move to United, despite his current job in the French capital and the players at his disposal.

The Parisians are currently top of Ligue 1, leading by 11 points and they could all but confirm a place in the Champions League knockout round with victory over Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Pochettino had been 14/1 with the bookmakers to take over at United but is now into 5/2 with Grosvenor Sport.

Caretaker manager Michael Carrick is currently the second favourite to take over, with the former midfielder already in place to take charge while the board conducts a search for the next permanent manager.

The role could be a chance for the 40-year-old to impress, similar to predecessor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who took over in an interim capacity before being offered the job on a full-time basis.

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is joint-second favourite with Carrick. The former Liverpool man has a track record of making his teams competitive, though the Foxes are currently in a slight slump.

His FA Cup triumph with Leicester last season lives long in the memory of their fans.

Zinedine Zidane is fourth favourite on the list, with the former Real Madrid player and manager not currently in a job following his second spell with Los Blancos, but unlikely to want a move to the Premier League.

Zidane won two La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues, two Spanish Super Cups, two UEFA Super Cups and two FIFA Club World Cups in his time at Madrid.

Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag rounds out the top five, with his impressive style of football winning over many since his arrival at the club in 2017.
