Caretaker Manchester United boss Michael Carrick insists he is ready to answer an Old Trafford SOS for as long as the club needs him.
The club legend has been promoted to the top job on an interim basis after Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer's reign was ended on Sunday after a nightmare run of results.
Carrick will take the team for Tuesday's visit to Villarreal in the Champions League but it remains unclear the long-term vision.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has distanced himself from fresh speculation but reports suggest Zinedine Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino remain live options.
But Carrick isn't getting too far ahead of himself, as he turns his attention to the big match away to Unai Emery's side.
He said: “I'm prepared to do it for however long it takes - whether it's one game, two games, right now I'm not sure but I'm not thinking about that, it's about tomorrow
"My mindset is picking the team for tomorrow night, I know the club really well.
"It's time to look forward, not back. I look at myself and what I can do and improve."
Manchester United face a battle to reignite their flagging hopes of finishing in the top four but currently sit six points behind West Ham who occupy fourth.
