Manchester United news as Ethan Galbraith trains with first-team ahead of Man City clash

Northern Ireland midfielder Ethan Galbraith has trained with Manchester United's first-team ahead of Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash with Man City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side travel to the Etihad for the second leg of their semi-final looking to overturn a 3-1 deficit.

Galbraith trained with the first team at Carrington on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old has already made his senior United debut, that coming in the Europa League group stage defeat to Astana in Kazakhstan at the end of November.

The Co Antrim teen also trained with the first-team ahead of their defeat to Arsenal earlier in the month.

Fellow academy stars Brandon Williams, Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong, James Garner and Mason Greenwood were all also spotted being put through their paces on a chilly morning in Manchester.

Nemanja Matic and Marcos Rojo took part in the session, but the duo are thought to be doubts for the trip to face City this week.

Matic was substituted at half-time of United's win against Tranmere at the weekend and Solskjaer admitted the Serbian international would be monitored carefully ahead of their next game.

"Nemanja has got a slight problem," Solskjaer said during his press conference on Friday.

"So he had to come off at half-time and has played loads of football. So hopefully we can get him back on the pitch tomorrow, I haven't seen him [this morning]."
