Manchester United name strong squad for Australia tour ahead of Leeds United friendly Down Under

Manchester United have confirmed their travelling squad for their pre-season tour of Australia, where they will face Leeds United.

The two bitter rivals will lock horns for the first time in almost eight years in Perth on Wednesday July 17, as their rivalry is renewed Down Under.

While Leeds have two domestic friendlies upcoming next week, the Red Devils are due to fly out this afternoon, ahead of their first friendly which is against Perth Glory on Saturday July 13.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named a strong squad, with the most notable inclusion being the club's record signing Paul Pogba, who is currently the subject of transfer speculation.

The France international has been named in the travelling party, with new signing Daniel James, who came close to joining Leeds United in January, also set for the plane.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who joined the club for £50million from Crystal Palace this summer will also travel, while absentees include Fred, who is getting married, Alexis Sanchez who has been in action for Chile at the Copa America this summer, Matteo Darmian and reserve goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who has gone on holiday and is in talks with Sheffield United about another loan spell.

A host of youngsters will also make the trip.

Leeds will not fly out until next weekend, as they have friendlies at York City and Guiseley on Wednesday and Thursday evening respectively.

LeedsLive will be in Australia to report on both of Leeds United's friendlies and the rest of the events that the club undertake Down Under.
