Manchester United morning headlines with Harry Kane update as Solskjaer told who to target

Here are the Manchester United morning headlines for Saturday April 4

Spurs dismiss Kane rumours

England captain Harry Kane had previously suggested he could leave Spurs. However, sources close to the player have told MEN Sport there is ‘no chance’ of United tempting the striker away due to a lengthy deal keeping Kane with Hotspur until at least 2024.

The club has a track record of maintaining hold of their valuable assets since Gareth Bale’s move to Real Madrid which for a once world record fee of £85million in 2013.

The situation comes as United continue their search for a striker. The club are known to be big admirers of Kane and have been attempting to sign a striker for a while following the pursuit of Erling Haaland and their loan of Odion Ighalo from the Chinese Super League.

De Ligt relative quizzed on United speculation

The father-in-law of Matthijs de Ligt has dismissed speculation linking the defender with a transfer from Juventus to Manchester United. As quoted by MEN Sport, Keje Molenaar labelled any talk as ‘just rumours, that’s all, there’s nothing more to say about it,".

Despite struggling with high expectations following his £67.8million move to Turin and reports suggesting United would be interested if Juventus opted to sell, Molenaar gives accounts about his son in law not regretting joining Juve.

"He and Annekee are really enjoying themselves in Turin and maybe they can spend some more time in Italy”

United great identifies top targets for the club

Former United midfielder Sammy Mcllroy has stated that the club must target flair players, namely Jadon Sancho to take the next step under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Speaking to MEN Sport, Mcllroy states how he has seen signs of promise from the side and believes that the side has a duty to entertain as well and win at Old Trafford.

“At Manchester United, you always need flair players and I’m sure Ole knows that, he was in the squad under the great Sir Alex Ferguson, scoring goals for fun”.

Mcllroy who made over 400 appearances for the club is also happy with how younger players have been utilised. "It’s great when you see this season some of the academy players coming through, there have been times when we’ve had six or seven academy players in the squad," he said.
