Manchester United morning headlines as Miralem Pjanic stance on Man Utd transfer 'revealed'

United issue tour update

United have announced they will not be going on tour this summer.

The club spent time in Australia, Singapore and China during pre-season ahead of the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

However, an overseas tour will not be possible this time around due to the delay in completing the Premier League and Europa League seasons.

This will be the first summer since 2002 that United will not travel outside of Europe in pre-season.

"Looking further ahead, given the revised timing for domestic and UEFA competitions, we will not be participating in our typical summer tour activities this year,” said chief financial officer Cliff Baty.

Neville names two influential team-mates

Gary Neville says Peter Schmeichel and Steve Bruce were key to his development as a first-team player at United.

The former right-back made his senior debut against Torpedo Moscow in 1992 and then became a regular in Sir Alex Ferguson’s XI in the 1994/95 campaign.

And Neville has revealed that tough love from Schmeichel and Bruce ultimately aided his development.

"The one that was hardest with me was Peter Schmeichel, he was brutal with me in that first year or two," Neville told Sky Sports' The Football Show.

"Schmeichel was constant, every single day in training at me. He told me on the team day out, he didn’t think I was capable of replacing Paul Parker, nowhere near as good as Parker. It was maybe true as Parker was a very good defender.

"The one who helped me the most in that first year or two was Steve Bruce. Brucey really looked after me on that right hand side, he talked to me through the game. He never went quiet on me.”

Pjanic rejects United - reports

Miralem Pjanic has turned down the chance to join Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

The Juventus midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Serie A champions after four years at the club.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Pjanic has fielded lucrative offers from United, Chelsea and PSG.

But the Bosnia-Herzegovina international has reportedly told his suitors that he only wants to play for Barcelona.
