Manchester United 'monitoring young Chelsea star' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are monitoring the Chelsea right-back Reece James, according to reports.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Championship side Wigan Athletic, and caught the eye with a series of impressive displays.

James is expected to form part of Chelsea's first-team squad next season, but The Sun report that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a keen admirer.

United's summer transfer window - Solskjaer's first as manager - is set to revolve around recruiting young, hungry, British talent, and it is claimed that James fits the bill.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is also said to be monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, United are said to have been put on alert after the Napoli full-back, Elseid Hysaj, said he is keen on a move away from the club.

The Albania international, 25, is said to be on Chelsea's radar but teamtalk.com claim that Hysaj could be on United's radar amid Solskjaer's attempts to bolster his full-back options at Old Trafford.

"I am absolutely ready for a new adventure, because I need to change," Hysaj said.

"I am not the type who always likes being in the same team and in the same environment and tell me that I feel good, that I don’t want anything more."

Elsewhere, United are reported to be keen on a move for the Paris Saint-Germain defender, Thomas Meunier.

The Reds have been linked with the Belgium international for some time amid Solskjaer's concern at a shortage of options at full-back.

Meunier, 27, made 31 appearances for PSG last season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists.

Paris United claim that United would have to out-muscle Arsenal for his signature.
