Manchester United midfielder signs professional contract after joining from Liverpool

Highly-rated youngster Ethan Ennis has signed his first professional contract at Manchester United after being on the books of Liverpool.

Ennis left Liverpool last summer at the age of 16 after rejecting a scholarship at Anfield and he opted for a switch to the Reds’ fierce rivals.

The youngster played a huge role in Liverpool’s run to the FA Youth Cup final, where they were beaten by Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Once Ennis made his intentions to leave Anfield known, a scramble ensued between United and Chelsea for his signature.

Ennis recently confirmed the news on his Instagram account, writing: “Delighted to have signed my first professional contract with Manchester United!

“A big thank you to my family and everybody who has helped me achieve this goal. Hard work continues.”

Since moving to Manchester, Ennis has featured regularly for the club’s Under-18s this season.
