Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba posts positive injury update

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has taken to social media to post an update as he continues his rehabilitation from injury.

The French midfielder has not featured for United since their Boxing Day win over Newcastle at Old Trafford and underwent ankle surgery earlier in the year.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer initially suggested Pogba would be out for 'three or four weeks' but the Frenchman has been out for over two months.

Pogba and his United teammates have been told to train at home during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with the club’s Carrington training complex shut for the foreseeable future.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, Pogba posted an update from his home as he trained with Victor Lindelof and showcased his improved mobility following his successful surgery.

The 27-year-old, who was wearing a Juventus shirt in support of close friend Blaise Matuidi, showcased a range of short sprinting drills as well dribbling with the ball at his feet.

French international teammate Matuidi has tested positive for COVID-19, and Pogba addressed his choice of attire with his caption on the post.

Lindelof wore a Sampdoria shirt in support of his Swedish international teammate Albin Ekdal, who also tested positive for the virus last week.

“New training camp is called....Quarantine PP Arena, open 24/7!” Pogba wrote on his Instagram update. “Have fun working from home with my brother Victor Lindelof.

“Supporting our friends Blaise Matuidi, Albin Ekdal and all athletes and people around the world.

“Be strong, #StayAtHome and be safe.

“(I know the cheeky ones will talk about the Juventus jersey. I’m just supporting my friends… that’s all, nothing more).”
