Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba gives injury update

Paul Pogba has posted an injury update as he nears his return to fitness for Manchester United.

The French midfielder has not featured since Boxing Day, underwent ankle surgery at the beginning of January, and will not travel with the rest of the United first team for their warm weather training camp in Spain.

Pogba, along with Odion Ighalo, Marcus Rashford and Lee Grant, will sit out the trip to Spain as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side prepare to take on Chelsea in the Premier League.

France international Pogba has been undergoing his own individual training regime at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex in Dubai and took to social media to post an update on Saturday morning.

Pogba posted a montage of his injury rehabilitation to his Instagram account along with the caption 'slowly but surely' as he nears a return to action.

Speaking ahead of United's flight to Spain, Solskjaer confirmed Pogba will not travel but provided a positive news regarding injured duo Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe.

"Marcus [Rashford], Paul [Pogba], they’re not ready yet to join in the training," Solskjaer told MUTV.

"Lee Grant unfortunately has had an injury, so he will require surgery, so he will be out for two or three months, so hopefully he’ll get back before the end of the season. Odion [Ighalo] will stay in Manchester.

"Scotty has done better in his recovery than we thought, so we will take him with us. Hopefully he can join in the training sessions and Axel [Tuanzebe] as well, he’ll join in, so that’s two positives and it’s a good chance for them to use this time with the players.”
