Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes reveals why he shushed Pep Guardiola

Bruno Fernandes says he shushed Pep Guardiola after the Man City manager showed him a lack of respect during Manchester United's derby win last weekend.

January signing Bruno Fernandes was excellent once again for United as he helped mastermind their 2-0 victory at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese midfielder collected another assist when he set-up Anthony Martial for the opening goal of the match while also dictating his side's style of play.

As the game boiled over in a frantic finale at Old Trafford, the United midfielder was seen putting his finger to his mouth as he shushed Guardiola following a verbal altercation.

Fernandes insists it is not something he would do again, but admits he has no regrets after he claims he was shown a lack of respect by the City manager.

"I talked about this with some friends and some people think 'Pep won everything, who is Bruno to diss him?', but I think it is about respect," Fernandes told Sky Sports.

"Now, I think outside of the pitch I don't do this again if I am on the pitch now. But, at that moment the words he told me made me mad, and on the pitch I am a little bit nervous, it is the kind of player I am.

"I have respect for Pep and what he won, and what he did for football because he changed some mentalities in football.

"But, at that moment he didn't deserve my respect at that moment on the pitch."
