Manchester United signing Bruno Fernandes paid homage to Cristiano Ronaldo by copying his trademark celebration in a kickabout on Tuesday afternoon.
Fernandes was joined by Portuguese teammate Diogo Dalot for a kickabout earlier this week after United announced they were cancelling training at the Carrington training complex.
United players and staff have instead been advised to stay at home for the foreseeable future and undergo their own personal fitness regimes.
The Portuguese duo decided to hone their skills by taking part in a few skill challenges while playing at home, including a shootout in the back garden.
Dalot uploaded a ‘quarantine challenge’ video to social media which showcased the pair taking turns to shoot past each other at goal.
The defender appeared to score the most goals in the video clip, however Fernandes netted the best goal with a vicious strike which he immediately celebrated by performing Ronaldo’s iconic ‘Sii’ celebration.
It is not the first time Fernandes has paid homage to his international teammate, and speaking earlier in the week he revealed the warm welcome Ronaldo gave him after breaking into the Portugal national side.
“He welcomed me very well to the Portugal national team,” Fernandes told Cronache Di Spogliatoio.
“We look at him as an idol, he has always been an idol for me. I followed his example, he is one of my favourites.
“When I was called up by Portugal, he came to me saying, ‘You are doing a good job at Sporting, I like it’. Words like these make the difference.”
