Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira suggests radical solution to end season

Andreas Pereira has suggested he is willing to play matches every day if it means the 2019-20 season can be completed.

Manchester United have not played since they beat LASK Linz in a behind-closed-doors Europa League match on March 12 and haven't played a game in England since beating City in the derby on March 8.

Domestic football in England will not resume until April 30 at the earliest and that date is expected to be pushed back further as the country battles the coronavirus pandemic.

United have nine league games left to play this season but remain in the Europa League and FA Cup.

Pereira is against the idea of cancelling the season and told ESPN: "For me, I want to finish the season as quickly as possible. I understand it's a difficult time now and the health of people is more important.

"But I would like to finish the season, even if it means in a week playing a game every day. I want to finish the season. It will be a bad feeling if we have to void the season.

"I think we could cope. If you see now, everybody has had a lot of rest, we have recovered, players who were injured are coming back.

"We have big squad and we can deal with games, two days in a row or maybe every two days. I don't think it will be a problem. It would be difficult to accept that the season is void."
