Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira says transfer dream will leave him in tears

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira says it would be a dream come true to one day play for Brazilian side Santos.

Pereira is currently enjoying his best season at Old Trafford, and is the third-highest appearance maker for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side behind both Fred and Harry Maguire.

The 24-year-old will be hoping to feature regularly for United once the football season resumes but he admits he already has a dream of playing in Brazil.

Pereira grew up as a fan of Santos and says he'd probably be reduced to tears if he ever got to fulfil his ambition of one day representing them.

“My entire family is Santista," he told Brazilian outlet Esporte Interativo.

"Since I was little, my father always bought me a Santos shirts. I always liked Santos. Then I started watching, it was the time, when I was very young, it was Robinho, Diego.

“Then I got the season that Neymar, Ganso and Elano played, I saw them all playing, that’s when I fell in love with Santos.

“The day I wear the shirt… I don’t know. I think I’ll cry. Because I always said to my father, ‘I want to be a footballer’. I used to play for PSV. I was like, ‘If I play for PSV, it’s good. My dream is to play here. I love PSV as the club too. And then play for Santos’.”
