Manchester United: Mason Mount suffers injury setback to leave Chelsea reunion at risk

Mason Mount has suffered an injury setback that could keep him on the sidelines for a number of weeks.

The Manchester United midfielder will miss Sunday's trip to Everton with a calf problem, adding to Erik ten Hag's fitness issues.

Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, Amad Diallo and Tyrell Malacia have already been ruled out of the game at Goodison Park while Rasmus Hojlund and Jonny Evans are doubts.

A fresh calf injury has added Mount to that list with it rumoured the 24-year-old could be out for up to a month.

That will mean him missing next week's crunch Champions League game away to Galatasaray, for which Marcus Rashford is also suspended.

United then face Newcastle, Mount's old club Chelsea, Bournemouth, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and West Ham in the run up to Christmas.

The December 6 visit of Chelsea to Old Trafford was set to be Mount's first game against the club he joined as a boy, before leaving for an initial £55million last summer.

Mount has managed 12 appearances for United since signing, having also missed a few weeks of action due to an injury suffered at the end of August.
