Manchester United manager Solskjaer reacts to Raphael Varane unveiling and announcement

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer approved of Raphael Varane's unveiling by Manchester United on Saturday.

The Manchester Evening News reported on the morning of the game the hold-up that had delayed the announcement of Varane's transfer had been resolved and United wre planning to confirm it before kick-off against Leeds.

Varane emerged from the tunnel around 10 minutes before kick-off clutching a United shirt and posed for pictures on the pitch before he was congratulated by United great Rio Ferdinand.

United had intended to confirm the arrival of Varane on Wednesday but unforeseen circumstances delayed the protracted announcement by another three days.

"I haven't spoken to him after the game," Solskjaer said. "But, of course, it was a nice moment for him and it was a nice moment for the fans, them together, they look forward to seeing them, he looks forward to seeing his teammates.

"I'm looking forward to working with him. Top professional, I've followed his career throughout and you just see the way he conducts himself, the way he lives his life.

"All the chats I've had with him and the club has had with him, we've got a top human being and a top player."
