Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms when he will play his new first XI

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed he will start his best eleven against AC Milan when the two sides face off in Cardiff in August.

United will face Serie A giants AC Milan at the Principality Stadium on August 2nd as part of the International Champions Cup.

And Solskjaer believes it's the 'perfect opportunity' to put his best starting XI to the test ahead of United's Premier League opener with Chelsea nine days later.

“We’re getting close to the league then and playing against AC Milan in Cardiff is a great chance for us to put the full team out to test ourselves just before the league starts," he told the organisers of the International Champions Cup.

“We’re going to have to play our top team because we want to get into the league knowing each other and having some relationships built, so it will probably look like who will start in the first league game, maybe one or two changes.”

The fixture, which is the first Champions Cup fixture to be played in Wales, is set to be a sell-out with organisers opening a further batch of tickets in the upper tier, priced at £25 for adults and £10 for under-16s.

More than 45,000 tickets have already been sold with United fans snapping up tickets for the final pre-season fixture.

The last time the two sides met, United won 4-0 in 2010 with ex-Red Devil David Beckham turning out for Milan on that day.

United fans are still able to buy tickets for the clash in August here.
