Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer comments on Paul Pogba and Amad carrying Palestinian flag

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he respects Paul Pogba and Amad's decision to carry a Palestinian flag during Manchester United's lap of honour.

Pogba and Amad held the flag aloft following United's final home game of the season against Fulham three days after Leicester players Hamza Choudhury and Wesley Fofana did likewise as they celebrated winning the FA Cup.

The Football Association will not discipline Choudhury and Fofana for their gesture and Solskjaer was asked about the actions of Pogba and Amad.

"We have players from different backgrounds, different cultures, different countries and I think we need to respect their views if they differ from someone else's," Solskjaer said.

"If my players think about other things than football that's a positive thing and I think we've seen that with some of the players before that they do care about. Marcus Rashford, for example, the difference he's made. We respect their right to have a different view."

United took one point from their last three Premier League home games after relegated Fulham held them to a draw at Old Trafford.

Joe Bryan's 76th minute equaliser marked the 10th home league game United have dropped points in this season and they only won nine.

"Definitely we did create chances," Solskjaer remarked. "We had a very good spell just before they scored in the second-half, that was the period we should have stamped our authority more on the game and scored a goal.

"But, then again, in the Premier League, it's never given. You have to earn every single goal in this league. We’ve gone for it, couldn’t get the three points that we desperately wanted because we want to go into the next week full of confidence."
