Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer aims dig at Premier League over Everton fixture

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Manchester United have had 'absolutely no help' from the Premier League in dealing with their packed fixture schedule.

United play their 11th game of the new season when they travel to face Istanbul Basaksehir on Wedesday night before a weekend trip to face Everton in the Premier League.

The Champions League tie in Turkey kicks-off at 5:55pm UK time with United next in action when they face Everton in the 12:30pm match at Goodison Park on Saturday.

United's packed fixture schedule means they will face a quick turnover between matches despite specifically requesting to play later in the weekend.

Solskjaer says United asked for their match against Everton to be moved to the Sunday to allow for an extra day's rest but had 'no help' in reorganising the fixture.

“It might have an impact on the team selection and subs we make depending on the game of course," Solskjaer told MUTV ahead of the match against Basaksehir. "12.30 on a Saturday doesn’t help us but that’s what the Champions League gives to you, it gives you a challenge because you want to be in this competition playing in midweek and we’ve just got to take it as it comes.

"We asked for a Sunday game but there was absolutely no help to get that.”
