Manchester United make Harry Maguire decision as Liverpool suspension looms

Harry Maguire will play against Burnley despite being just one booking away from a domestic suspension ahead of Manchester United facing Liverpool on Sunday.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer promised that his captain would take to the field at Turf Moor on Tuesday, even though he is a yellow card away from his fifth booking in the Premier League this term - meaning one more would see him banned for the huge clash at Anfield between the two sides this weekend.

United singed Maguire for £80million in the summer of 2019 and he has started in every league match since.

"Harry is playing [against Burnley], definitely, that’s for sure," Solskjaer said.

"If he doesn’t wake up ill, you cannot only take three points and not put your eyes on games beyond this one."

United have the chance to go outright top of the table with their game in hand against Sean Dyche's side but the Reds will be looking to strike back against their rivals at the weekend no matter what the result in order to assert some dominance in the top flight once again with Man City also looming.
