Manchester United make £54m decision, Tottenham make £61m midfielder bid - European rumours

As Europe’s elite draw up their transfer targets in time for the new season, an abundance of star names enter the radar.

Whether they’re already royalty or up and coming stars, the biggest clubs in world football are leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of fresh talent to bolster their squads.

With the new season just a matter of weeks away for every club in Europe, new deals are frantically being pushed over the line at every turn.

Here are the hottest rumours coming from around the continent

Man United reject Lukaku bid

ESPN report that Man United have rejected a £54 million bid from Inter Milan for star striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Italian club have been in hot pursuit of the Belgian’s signature all window but it looks like United are unwilling to lower their asking price.

Inter are reportedly interested in the 26-year-old as a viable replacement for Mauro Icardi, who has made clear his intent to leave the San Siro.

Spurs negotiate with Atletico

Spurs have already captured their first singing in two seasons, but as one door closes another must open - and crucial playmaker Christian Eriksen could be on his way out.

Atletico Madrid have emerged as contenders for the Dane, with Spanish daily AS reporting that the clubs have opened up discussions over potential fees.

The Rojiblancos have been one of the most ambitious clubs in the window, selling star players Antoine Griezmann and Rodrigo to make way for record signing Joao Felix.

Ceballos nearing Arsenal move

As we have reported, Dani Ceballos is next on Arsenal’s list of priority targets following the set in stone acquisition of William Saliba from St Etienne.

Ceballos, who has found game time difficult to come by for Real, is rumoured to be interested in a loan stint at the Emirates - but no option has surfaced to make the move permanent.

Tottenham race Bayern for Lo Celso

According to Spanish media outlet El Transistor, Spurs have made a £61 million bid for Real Betis midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso.

Lo Celso, who has been highly sought after by the North London club this window, has also attracted interest from German powerhouse Bayern Munich.

After being reportedly put off by the £60 million asking price, Spurs have bid £1 million over that mark in order to see off competition for the youngster’s signature.

The Argentine scored 15 times for Betis in La Liga last term and could serve as a valuable replacement for Christian Eriksen if he leaves.
